Panama: nervous:
What's with all the "expat unrest" posts I'm seeing? I realize it's been twenty years since I was there but life was very pleasant then. Have Americans overstayed their welcome or have just some people forgotten they are guests in someone else's home and want everything their way?
Uruguay: Belize:

Uruguay: art supplies:
Does anyone know where you would buy fine art supplies there? Any idea what they would cost?
Panama: Visas-funny story:
My,my, how things have changed. The first time I came to Panama I didn't have a Visa. Two schoolteachers just ahead of me were sent back. In those days I had more nerve than good sense. I marched into the air marshals office and informed him I was going to take a nap on his sofa and when he figured out what to do with me to wake me up. A couple of hours later he woke me and gave me a Visa. No one told me the airport was in Colon so I was standing on the sidewalk wondering what to do next when the commander of the southern pacific fleet pulled up and offered me a ride. He put me up in Bachelors Officers Quarters in Balboa. Quite a Visit! This time I don't think that will work.
Uruguay: Help:
I am retiring this year at 73. I am tired of being cold. Can I live comfortably, not fancy, rent a studio type apt etc. on 1,500 US?
