Kuwait: Pets:
I've got a lot of experience moving a cat into and out of Kuwait.
I brought my cat from Dubai to Kuwait several years ago and so the following will be helpful to you.
Have all of the cat shots up to date (within the past year).
Since your husband will be arriving before you, he will have to go to the Ministry that controls the import of live animals where he will have to get permssion from the Ministry to bring the cat into the country. No big deal but it's a real hassle finding the Ministry (two locations).
There is a vet in Kuwait who can handle the paperwork for you in case you don't want to do it yourself, but like everything in Kuwait they are rather expensive.
Check with your airline on tansporting the cat. Easiest and cheapest way is to have it transported on the same flight as you. Comes as excess baggage. Otherwise you will need a company in the USA to make the arrangement and they probably do not come cheap.
If you have the cat accompany you in the same plane as excess baggage, it will show up in baggage claim with your other suitcases.
I shipped my cat back with me to the USA on KLM. Of course KLM cancelled the flight and I had to leave the cat in Kuwait for an extra few days, but KLM handled her with kid gloves on the way back.
The cat can be shipped in one of the standard heavy duty plastic containers that you would normally take your cat to the vet in. If in doubt check with the manufacturer to make sure the plastic container is IATA approved. Most are.
Hope this helps. Call me in Orlando at 407 894 5987 after 6:00 PM if you need more info.

It appears that you were royally shafted. Who was the company that treated you in such a manner?
If you wish, send me a copy of your resume, and I'll examine for possible ideas. My personal email address is vicv1@yahoo.com

Kuwait: Living Accommodations In Kuwait:
Greetings,
I am a middle aged, professional American expat currently living in Dubai, and will be moving to Kuwait soon after May 1, '05.
I'll be looking for a place to stay and am willing to share the rental of a large apartment or villa with one or two other professional expats (male or female). I have lived in the Middle East for nine years and so am very adaptable to the expat life.
Look forward to hearing from any interested parties and can be contacted in Dubai at +971 50 611 2617.
Thanks,

Kuwait: Pet Cat in Kuwait:
Hello,
I'm an Aerican expat currently living in Dubai, UAE and want to bring along with me my pet cat. She has all of the shots and certificates.
Will I have any prblems at tte airport getting her through customs?
Are there problems in finding ground floor apartments or single story villas in which to live. (This cat is used to her freedom as we currently live in a single story villa here in Dubai).
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Vic V.

Kuwait: House Pets in Kuwait:
Hello,
I'm in the process of moving from Dubai to Kuwait and wish to bring my cat with me. The cat has all of her shots, but I have heard that I need a letter of permission from one of the Ministries to bring her in. Is this true?
Also did you bring your pets through the airport? If affirmative, did you have any problems at the airport clearing them through customs, and even locating them at the airport after landing?
Thanks,
Vic Vermillion
