China: moving to Shenyang! HELP!:

So myself and my partner are thinking of moving to Shenyang from the UK to teach English as my friend moved their last August and her life seems amazing, I think it's a great opportunity and would be an amazing experience - but honestly it is terrifying, I don't know the first thing about moving to another country, I struggled moving out to go to University when I was 18. This is something that I really want but could do with some advice, any help would be much appreciated - how has everyone else got on? Am I making the right choice?
