Nicaragua: Place to stay Leon beach area:
We have been living in the the Masaya area for past year and are ready to relocate to a beach area. Planning a road trip to the beaches around Leon this week and looking for a good budget hotel and available home rentals in the area. We like remote areas and would like to find some kind of rescue center to work with wildlife. Have a tough 4X4 so access is not a problem. Thanks for any positive input.
Nicaragua: House and pet sitters:
We are an early retired Texas couple living in Central America for six years. We offer house and pet sitting services for the times you need to travel to visit family or take care of business. We provide security for your home, care for your pets and can pay your bills if needed. We will supervise any workers and I also do pool maintenance. I am a skilled handyman and can deal with home emergencies and enjoy working in the garden. We have multiple excellent references available. Send a private message with your needs and we will show you how to make your travels a stress free trip
Nicaragua: Alternator Repair:
The alternator on my diesel Galloper has quit charging and I am looking for someone in the Ticuantepe area that can do electrical repairs. There are plenty of mechanics around but few have the knowledge to do electrical component rebuilds. I am sure it needs only a set of brushes or a diode and don't want to spend 350 on a new alternator when it is not necessary. Thanks for any helpful input. Steven
Nicaragua: Renewing car permit:
I brought my Costa Rican registered car up in January and renewed my permit for another 30 days in Managua in February. They told me I could not renew another time and the car would have to leave the country However. he gave me a note telling me to contact a Director de Gestion de Riesgo. Anyone know what this is or had any experience with them? Thanks Steven
Nicaragua: Rights for renters:
We are having an issue with our landlord over the rent and they have threatened to change the locks on Thursday and lock us out. This is our final month here. Our rental contract states that our deposit can be used toward unpaid rent, utilities or damages. We paid a portion of the rent and with the repairs we have made that they owe us for and the deposit we are paid in full for the month. But yet they are making these threats. The owner's are out of the country and desperate to sell the house.Their "realtor" is a shady lawyer who has been screwing them on the bills she is paying for them and has a bad attitude toward us since we arrived. She has had bad a experience renting to in the past and simply did not want to do the work required to have us in the house. Any suggestions on how to deal with this please let me know ASAP. Thanks
Nicaragua: Looking for a laundry:
We are looking for a laundry with actual washing machines in the Ticuantepe, south Managua area. The maid is destroying our clothes scrubbing them in the sink. Could be laundramat type where we do our own or just a drop off and they wash and dry. Do not need a pricey dry cleaners, they are everywhere. Thanks Steven
Nicaragua: Looking for a house:
Looking for a furnished house in the Ticuantepe area. 2-3 bedroom in the 500 dollar range. Have had no luck with the realtors we have talked to but if you know a good one please pass along the contact. Thanks Steven
Costa Rica: Taking a car to Nicaragua:
We are planning to spend a few months traveling in Nicaragua and want to take our Galloper to explore. I know I have to go to the Bank in Liberia to get paperwork. Does anyone have details on what is required, how long is it good for, how long can the car stay out of the country, cost, etc. We are not residents but the car is registered in Costa Rica Thanks Steven
Nicaragua: Any Nascar fans ?:
