Australia: Curious about adjustment to life OZ:

Hi All, I'm an American engaged to a super Aussie-guy. We'll marry in Sep 05 and I plan to relocate later that month to Canberra. The immigration paperwork is underway so I anticipate that part will be OK. I've moved many times in my life and am fairly schooled in moving my household, being organized, living in W. Europe/S. America, etc. However, there are so many significant changes to my current level of independence (marriage, leaving my employment, moving across the globe, etc.) all at once that I would appreciate any resources that would be available to help with coping to life in a new country, US expat communities, or just knowing that I'm not alone...anyone else been down this road before? I am positive about my pending nuptuals; my fiance is extraordinary and I know he will be a vital and dependable support to me. My family and friends in the States will be a great support from across the miles and my fiance's family and friends are also very supportive. I guess I'm just wondering if other people have been in similar situations that wouldn't mind sharing their adjustment techniques or suggestions? thanks!
