Ecuador Welcome Forum: Presidential Election:

Lasso copied Hillary. He had the dead voting for him. He hired a crooked polling firm to project his victory, to discourage Lenin voters from going to vote. There was so much fraud from Lasso that a South American team from all the SM countrys was sent to supervise the vote in the runoff. They did not see any fraud in the runoffs. Of course Lasso started calling fraud as soon as it was plain that he lost. The common working people elected Lenan, because they remember how bad things were before the present administration and they want to continue the program. Lasso also copied the Hillary play book. He hired demonstrators and encouraged their bad behavior. Lasso became a billionaire banker in the usual manner, and has his money hid in offshore accounts.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: New FBAR deadline:

FBAR HAS NOTHING USINTO DO WITH BISINESS OR CAPITAL GAIN. You have to file the FBAR, to report any offshore accounts containing more then $10,000. The penalty for not filing is 50% of the money in the account. The US has agreements with most country's to report this money. Has nothing to do with income, and you will not owe any tax, if you have already reported the income on your taxes. The US will give you about $90,000 exemption from income tax on earned income from business or employment, plus allow you to deduct living expenses, including rent. LARRY

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Moving to Farm:

You an bring a car no more the 4 years old, no more the 3 liter engine, and no more then $20,000,00. Farm equipment no more then 15 years old. You should double check all this, because info is 2 years old and things change.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Lyrica Prescription:

lyrica is not a very good medicine. You should explore other solutions. If you feel you have to have it, I do not know if it is available in Ecuador. Yes you can keep your medicare, but it will not cover you for care in Ecuador. If you want to pay into the Ecuador health system, you need to go to SRI to sign up. They charge $62 a month for single and $83 for couple. You can have meds sent from USA. they let you send 4 kilos, and $400 5 times a year. No problem Send by postal. International postal is reliable, cheap and efficient. If you send by private carrier, you may have problems. What is your age? Good luck Larry

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Parasites:

You can get parasites anywhere in the world. They just do not recognize them in some places, like the USA. That is bad because then they want to treat with steroids, witch will make you much worse and you will probably wind up with a bag on your side after your colostomy. I got round worms in Northern CA. and in Louisiana, 3 amoebic parasites in Alaska, that almost killed me. Been in Ecuador 3 years no problems. I drink the water, but wash my fruit and vegetables carefully.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: US Social Security:

I dropped mine last Feb. You will still have the hospital insurance which we do not pay for. You will never suffer enough from the 10% penalty, as you will suffer continuing to pay. To me it was almost worthless when I was in the states. To drop it you will have to go to the SSA website. They will make you call and get counseled on the phone about the consequences of dropping out. Then you have to fill out a form and mail it to them. When they get it they will take 60 business days to process it. Takes a long time to hit that little button on their computer. They could not get that part right, in my case. Took many phone calls over many mouths before they quit taking my money and refunded 75% of what they owed me. I do not know if my experience was typical of If I am just special. I do recommend that you ask to talk to a supervisor, each time you call them or the IRS. Everyone below that rank, is retarded, and could care less about helping you. They will just keep interrupting you to give their stupid opinion one more time. Good luck. It is important to keep these people honest and at least make them work a little for their money. Larry

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Weather in the mountains:

Quito, and Cuenca are both cold and wet. Do not worry about heat, there is none. Bring your winter closes. No 75 % is not high, if it is not how. Very comfortable humidity under most circumstance. Do not expect the high desert to be duplicate else where. If you want to be comfortable find one of the mountain valleys, at 4000, to 6000 feet. Always comfortable. Most gringos give up on Quito or Cuenca in about 2 years.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Moving:

Do you feel lucky, well, do you??There is a one in 5 chance that they will check when you get o Ecuador. If they do and you do not have a ticket of some king out of Ecuador, they will send you back. Many airlines will not let you board to leave the US because they do not want the expense of sending you back. So, do you feel lucky?

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Set up residency in state with no income tax before I leave?:

It's a great question to ask -- especially while you pore over tax forms this year. Seven U.S. states currently don't have an income tax: Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington and Wyoming Read more: http://www.bankrate.com/finance/taxes/state-with-no-income-tax-better-or-worse-1.aspx#ixzz4Xkt7PBAN Follow us: @Bankrate on Twitter | Bankrate on Facebook

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Taxes in EC on US earnings:

Hi Lloy. Lawyers and financial people are not trained to do taxes. You need a good tax preparation professional. I have 25 years in the business. Your situation may be simple or complicated, depending on income and the source. Do you draw social security? You would need to fill out a form 1040, You list your income on page one. If your total income is less then $25,ooo if single or $35 thousand if married, your social security will not be taxed. If the total is more then that, some of your SS will be taxable. You have to fill out a form to determine how much of the SS is taxable. Line 22 will list your total taxable income. Line 15A, and line 16A will list the taxable amount of your pension. For your tax deferred retirement withdrawal all will be potentially taxable. When you move to page 2 of the 1040 you will be able to take any legal deductions you are allowed. when you get to line 47 you will see your taxable income. Then you need to consult the tax table to see how much you will owe. It is not as complicated as it sounds. Your retirement withdrawal is simply treated as ordinary income, because you did not pay the tax when you put the money in your retirement fund. good Luck Larry Dennis
