Honduras: Amazon Shipping:
My gf lives in San Pedro Sula with her family and has a P.O Box set up in Miami. She ships everything to the P.O. Box and then a shipping company forwards everything to Honduras (for a fee of course). Items shipped using Amazon (new items) usually have a copy of an invoice so they do not get held up. If you are shipping used items or personal household items you will have to create your own invoice to send with the items.

Honduras: retire Roatan:
Hi Coolbeans,
I have been researching moving to Roatan for several years, don't like to jump into things (lol). I would recommend attending something similar to the investment discovery tour offered by Remax (http://www.roatan-realestate.com/roatan-investment-tours/). If you are planning to retire you can apply for a special visa for retired expats. Once granted, you can ship personal property and vehicles to the Island duty free. This is one of the things I learned through the tour. There is a lot of information floating around (some accurate, some not). I am attending a four day Discovery Tour in February 2016 to speak with some lawyers and real estate professionals, if there is anything earth shattering I will add to my post. Good luck with your search, see you on the island someday, maybe? :-)
