Netherlands: MBO equals with USA education.:

Hey there, I just recently stumbled upon the same problem you are facing with your diploma validation. The average U.S. HS diploma is of HAVO level or middle school. Keep in mind Dutch schools do not split their middle schools and high schools. If you went a specialized school, that is a totally different story. About work in the Eindhoven region...I'll make this short and sweet. Lived in Eindhoven and school there, couldn't find a callcenter job, couldn't find any part-time work that didn't entail fluent Dutch language skills. I made the smartest choice and moved to Amsterdam. My life is so much easier and not as boring! Good luck,

Netherlands: please help!:

Hi Neli, I cannot even imagine your frustrastion in trying to obtain permission to bring your own child with you. In this case, I think the easiest and fastest way to get your child into the Dutch/EU system is by having your boyfriend formally adopt your kid and then dropping the child's current last name. Both you and the real father may find discomfort in doing this. Also, the child may resent it later in life however, that is an alternative.

Netherlands: dog restrictions:

There are not restrictions on bringing dogs into the Netherlands however, it can be quite costly if you are coming from the States...even moreso if you are coming from any other country. The Dutch put high taxes and tarrifs on many things that others may see as a norm. The dog may be as expensive as having a baby!

Netherlands: undergraduate in netherlands:

Hey Sean, You can call me Jay. I'm a New Yorker by birth however, just claimed my dual citizenship to The Netherlands. I'll be coming to Holland on August 17. It would be good to hook up and talk when I get there. Until then, feel free to call me at to chat with me for questions via msn: winstonlig@hotmail.com

Netherlands: RE: TO SHAINHOUSE...HOPE YOU GET THIS:

Well got ur email about my dual status in Holland...about my situation, I would not need sponsorship bc I can travel freely and in addition, would be willing to pay for my own living expenses & travel. I know the Dutch are kinda old fashioned and like doing most things in person...maybe that is why I am having so much trouble. Anyways, if you are in pursuit of the same goal as myself, staying in touch would be essential! Email me at: winstonlig@hotmail.com and let us chat some more. The wider range of contacts you have in Holland the better, ya feel me! The Amerikaaner
