Costa Rica: 90 day border jumpers:

Just curious. if you are a 90 border jumper with no residency status, how does one get around to do simple things as shopping, medical needs and simple errands? I am assuming that since you do not have any residency status that you are unable to purchase a vehicle or apply for a drivers license. I couldn't think of a better place to get an answer than from those of you who actually live there or have prior experience living in CR.....thanks in advance for any help..

Costa Rica: Bank Account:

Other than ATM, are there any other ways to receive funds from the USA if only staying in CR on a 90 day Visa stay.

Costa Rica: U.S Cell phone provider service:

Has anyone travelled from the U.S to Costa Rica and was still able to continue their cell phone service (SPRINT) by simply changing the settings on your phone?

Costa Rica: pensionado:

Is the required $1,000 a month for pensionado annuity per person or for both husband and wife?

Costa Rica: Shopping/Currency:

Do many of the smaller establishments in the Southern Region accept American dollars or is it more beneficial to pay in Colones??

Costa Rica: America cell phone service:

Does anyone have any current experience with using Americas Sprint Cellular service in Costa Rica. We were told by a Sprint rep that it would only take turning on a few things on our I-Phone and Samsung phones and we should be able to get cell service.

Costa Rica: Liquor and beer:

What is the cost of alcohol. IE: 6-pack beer or liter of hard liquor. would it be cheaper to buy it in the duty free shop in the airport??

Costa Rica: Cigar Aficionado:

Trying to get an early start and put a list together for the for our trip to CR in May. So this question would be directed to a cigar aficionado who truly knows the difference between a real Cuban cigar and and the knockoffs. Are premium Cuban cigars readily available throughout the region of CR or are there any other premiums that I can look forward to?

Costa Rica: Weather in May:

I understand the roads in CR are not the best in the world. Will access into and around Coronado, Uvita and Dominical be severely effected?? We are planning on renting a 4x4 vehicle...

Costa Rica: pensionado status:

I understand in order to obtain pensionado status you must enroll in the local CCSS Government Health program (CAJA) even if you plan on purchasing private healthcare insurance. Does anyone have any insight as to how the percentage of tax is collected and is it based on your yearly annuity retirement income??
