India: Anyone Living In Ahmedabad?:

My husband and I are shortly moving to Ahmedabad on an assignment. I am having great difficulty getting any "real or useful" information on the city. We are currently living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Can you advise on what life is like in Ahmedabad. What is there to do, especially for a non-working wife!! Are there any libraries? Is there a "Hash House Harriers" club? Do we need to bring a shipment of non-perishable foods and toiletries?? What are the safety issues? How easy in general is it to live there? Would appreciate any information anyone has. We are due to move late July/early August '05. Regards Sharon
