Costa Rica: Coming to CR in June for 1st time:
My husband and I will be visiting Costa Rica, on a mission, to see if its a place we could retire. We live in DC and tired of cold.
My question, I do not like hot and humid but like beaches. Grew up in South Florida and too hot. We are in our 60's and hope to have an expat community nearby, along with able to walk most places... and the beach not too far off.
What towns would you suggest looking into? Thanks for your advise.

Spain: Retirement in Spain/in our 60's/from US:
Reading a lot in this forum but not much on people like myself that are soon to retire and believe they have chosen Spain. Would love to hear more about how the transition was, how they chose a place to live, did they visit it first, what their daily days are like, how are they dealing with missing family and the budget they have each month, etc.
So far I have seen very little on this forum.. People post but don't get much response. Love to hear from people that really retire at retirement age, in their 60's, on social security or similar and take the plunge and move abroad. Was it scary, exciting, stressful. Love to hear it all.
Thanks! Kathi & Dennis
Spain: Spain:

Spain: Less expensive cities to live in Spain:
We are wanting to move to Spain. Almeria sounds great. I have also been researching Malaga and the smaller towns around. Husband retires in the next year. Can we really live off of $2,000.00 a month?
Spain: Retired expats from US?:
Hi there, My husband and I live in Washington, DC area and are planning to retire in the next year to South of Spain. Just joined this forum. We are excited, me a little scared to pick up and leave. Our sons are grown and settled. And it's time for us to live a little. My question, can you really live on $2,000 us a month? That's what we are looking for. Like Valencia, Almeria, Malaga, what i've read. Hoping to make a search trip later this year. Any suggestions? Thanks! Kathi
