Panama: 63 Year=Old Woman:

I'm also 63 and single and I just attended the IL conference in Panama City. It was very informative. I'm planning to rent a place in one of the cities (haven't decided which one) so that I can get a reality check. Being single, of course you want to make sure that you choose a safe location just as you would for any country. Also, make sure that you REALLY think about what your new lifestyle might be because it will be different. I'm going to "test" the lifestyle in a couple of cities of my choice and then decide. I'm going to keep an open mind.

Panama: Adventures in Portobelo, Panama:

Thanks. I'll take this approach the next time I visit Panama. I'm staying downtown PC amidst the horrific traffic so I'm constrained as far as transportation is concerned. I'm in this area for a conference nearby and I did book a couple of tours. In the future, I'll plan for more tours that include getting to the beach.

Panama: 'permanent'' tourist:

So, does this mean that I could leave before the 180 days (let's say after 100 days, for example), stay away for three days or more, and when I return my 180 days start over again? Do I have to return to my home country or do I just need to leave Panama?

Panama: Recreation:

I'm moving to Panama and want to find some recreational groups for walking, running, swimming, kayaking, etc. Does anybody know of any recreational groups that I could join in Panama?

Panama: Crime in Panama:

I'd like to move to the Boquete area, but this post is leaving me with second thoughts. Are there any other cities in the area, not as crime-ridded and good for a single woman? I like the weather and having access to medical facilities and shopping. Are there other good cities in the same area with shopping and medical access?

Panama: The future of the dollar in Panama:

I'm curious about this. Can anybody tell me if the US dollar in Panama is affected by the US economy since Panama uses the US dollar?

Panama: Moving with pets to Panama:

I'm looking for feedback on this plan. I want to live in Panama for several months to check it out before I decide to move there. I want to bring my three cats with me for this trial period and I want to coordinate their arrival with mine. I'm looking at the Chiriquí area - rent something for several months with my cats to see if I like it, then decide. But, I'll have to return to the states for a month or sooner to close shop before I return. Does this sound unreasonable? Please dend me your feedback. Thanks.
