Panama: Coming to Panama.:

you should start your process now and decide which visa program you want to live under. There is quite a bit of paperwork to do before you go. Check with the Panamanian lawyer ccanton@cantonespino.com Isabel comes highly recommended from the Panamanian consulate here in Toronto, Canada. Check with yours in your own country. She is leading us through the process like babies and I am so grateful to her. We feel like our ducks will be in a row before we get there in June. Just saying...Good Luck

Panama: Stay in Panama San Francisco area:

where exactly is this "San Francisco area?

Panama: EXCELENT READ: Panama is Still the Easiest Place to Obtain Residency [Until This Happens…]:

Having travelled to other world countries in the last few decades, I can tell you that Panama is a little piece of heaven here on earth. No, I don't live there yet but living anywhere in the third world, you have to expect interference from developing nations. Everybody wants a piece. even me. lol Get used to the way things are done. Relax When and if things get too crazy for you, just move on. Don't get too attached. That's why they call it the "simple life".

Global Expat Forum: Financial agreement btw expat and tag-along:

In Canada your "tag along" is called a "dependent" and is entitled to "financial benefits" from the boyfriend of 3 years and these are legal benefits. So I cringe at that word tagalong. It sounds so dark ages. You contribute to the financial future of the both of you in many, many ways. Please do not degrade yourself. If you want to make some money, fine. But know you are not a tagalong. It makes you sound cheap and somewhat tawdry. I'm sorry you didn't ask for my feminist opinion. There is not much work in panama for expats. I am a teacher moving down in a few months and I would welcome a couple a days paid work per week or some tutoring however that is more than likely going to be volunteer work from what I am hearing. and that is just fine with me. The government expects you to come able to support yourself and I respect that. It doesn't cost alot to support oneself in Panama.

Panama: moving to boquete:

in a few months i would like to go to live in boquete . I'm selling everything lock stock and barrel. I have had much thought and trips there before making this decision. My question is this, if you can answer it: when I go through panama customs and I don't have a return ticket, and they ask me how long am i staying? Is it okay to say indefiniately? or I'm moving to boquete? what will they say to me?

Panama: good hotel near Tocumen??:

I stayed at the Novotel last time but I could have saved by staying closer to tocumen or allbrook. Does anyone know if there is a closer hotel and / or a shuttle bus to take you to the allbrook airport in the morning?

Panama: renting without documents anyone?:

there once was a house in Boquete no I'm just kidding. lol Seriously though, there is a couple of expats who let me know of a house for rent near theirs. owner is Panamanian and she rents it out without documentation to the renter. no receipts/ cash under the table. I can see how that works for them but I can't claim or prove to the govt that I had an address for that year. How the heck does that work
