Lithuania: Expats in Vilnius?:

Hi: My wife and I are planning to move to Vilnius in the Spring, hopefully in or before March 2008. We have already submitted the necessary paperwork and we are waiting for everything to be processed and hopefully approved. We are wondering about the expat life in Vilnius. Since we are both foreigners and don't speak Lithuanian, we are wondering if there any events or meetings of foreigners in Vilnius?

Lithuania: American in LT looking for others:

Hi: My wife and I are planning to move to Vilnius in the Spring. Waiting now for TRP (residency permit) application to be approved and then we are on our way! Send us a note! We would enjoy hearing about Lithuania from another expat.

Switzerland: moving to Zurich:

We just moved here last month and rented our apartment in Zurich last week. There seem to be two markets for Apartments in Zurich. www.Homegate.com is chosen by most reality agents. It is free to use and we have found that the peak time to find apartments is around the middle of the month. Alternatively there is a market for privately rented flats. Companies like Mata Dienst are sources of those, but if you use their services you will pay 75% of the first month rent only for listings. However, you pay them nothing if you find an apartment on your own or via homegate. You can also find ads in supermarkets (coop and migro) posted in the neighborhoods where you are interested in staying. There is also a substantial market for temporary apartments, which you can move into and out of pretty easily. Some are quite expensive however. Many are offered on homegate.
