Ecuador: Bringing Pets:
I have 2 small dogs, schnauzer & Maltese. I know my Maltese will for sure fly in the cabin and the other maybe. My question is since they'll be coming with us on our layovers where do they if any go to the bathroom! I guess I can call the airlines and ask. If anyone has the same question or have done this maybe you can tell me what you have done. They'll also have to go from Quito to Cotacachi.
Honduras: retire Roatan:
Hi coolbeans
My husband and I like West Bay. We checked out west end but we wanted a more middle of the road persay. West bay is a little more upscale and still has some of the night life if we want it. You can walk to a lot of places and the beach or they're a short drive. Our friend and realtor is Ed du Monceaux and he's the best. Not pushy at all. He does get to the chase though no playing around. He'll tell you like it is. That doesn't waste your time or his. What I mean is he'll ask you specific questions and work on the answers and that'll tell him what's best for you. Do listen to him and he's really understanding and great! If you want anymore info just post here or you can message me. Look for Brenda Martinez. Btw we haven't moved there yet we are in the works though
Honduras: Retiring in Roatan from Canada:
Search on Facebook for Roatan communities. There are plenty of Canadians. We're not but have friends that are.
Honduras: renting in roatan:
A good person who can help you is Ed Monceaux at islanded11@gmail.com He's been helping us for the same reason. Good luck
Honduras: Safety:
i know every place has the good bad and ugly and I have no doubt that Honduras is no exception. However I'd like to ask if at least Roatan is safer than the mainland. I know it's not without it's fault.
Ecuador: Sewer system:
can anyone tell me if Ecuador is like parts of MX where you can't throw the toilet paper in the sewer system.
Ecuador: Cotacachi:
Can anyone tell me about the story about problems with the indigenous people starting to have a problem with the influx of gringos? I have tried to do as much research as I can before we move there full time. My husband is a Chiropractor and acupuncturist and speaks spanish well enough but could of course be better at it but can get by. We want to help the local people as well as the expats by offering his services. I know he will be allowed to use his US license to practice. We also know that the local people may not be able to pay much if any at all and that's fine because that's what it's all about. We're just thinking that if that's what we do that we wouldn't be snubbed.
