Bermuda: Salary versus cost of living:

Hello and thanks for the add to the site. I am currently in Bermuda for an interview, having come from Canada. Today I expect to see an offer. Research seems to indicate that the cost of living is 2-2.5 times that of home. Would I be right to assume an offer at least that high salary wise? Moving here will entail my wife and I selling our home, cars and cutting other monetary ties with home. Although it is beautiful here I'm making the move more for financial reasons than simply a "working vacation". Ideas?
