Panama: temporary driver's license:

I would like to mention to those who are reading this and are planning to get residency. For your ease and timeliness, please think about using one of the FBI channelers for your FBI report. The FBI has the list on their web page. Yes, it may cost a little more in the short run, but I had mine back within 4 days. So I didn't have to delay my visa application or make trips back to the US.

Panama: Shipping Household Goods Exclusions?:

For receiving packages and mail in Panama, you may want to check out Hotexpress. They have partnered with Uno Express, the Panama delivery service. Hotexpress has the BEST rates and service. Uno Express offices are all over Panama, so you won't have to go far to pick up your mail. www.hot-express.net

Panama: Maybe Looking for house to rent end of year:

You could get a rental in Puerto Armuelles, Panama for less than that rent. I know 5 people who drove here from the states. It's not an easy drive, but its doable. One lady who just arrived about 6 weeks ago drove down in a truck and small trailer. She didn't pay any more duties than I did when I shipped my car with household goods. Although, her customs process was longer and more tedious. We don't have real estate agents to help find rentals. It's mainly word of mouth and people willing to help

Panama: Hotel near Immigration Office:

Country Inn and Suites ; its a short cab ride

Panama: Bringing motorcycle:

Shelbi This pass fall, I brought a car in my container of household goods to the port of Balboa It took 2 days for my entire container with car to clear customs. They did an in-container inspection, Then the container with car was brought to my town. Heidi Kam was my customs agent. She is excellent. hkam@gakam.com. For it's own protection, you will need to secure the motorcycle somehow in your container. Remember that the ships go up and down and rock sideways as they travel the ocean. Your shipper from Canada will tell you what documentation you need to ship

Panama: Gated Comunities:

I have two friends who bought property at Coco Beach. The project got off track for awhile, but the development is moving quickly now. It's a nice area. It is just outside of Puerto Armuelles. Those of us that live here, love it. I grew up on the Atlantic coast of Florida. It is nice now to have both the beach and the mountain view

Panama: Lawyer:

Steve, I didn't get my driver's license for 9 months after I got permanent residency - 90 days after I physically relocated to Panama. This was in 2016. A Canadian friend who just moved here talked to the Canadian Embassy 2 days ago. They told her she had to take her Canadian driver's license to the embassy and go back in 3 days to pick up the notarization.

Panama: Shipping house hold from Florida ?:

Where I live, I would have to say that most rentals do not come with furniture. One that I looked at did have a dining room table. No appliances in any of them. This situation is probably different in some areas Tuna4Tom, Did you follow up with IContainers out of Miami?

Panama: waiting for David flight:

There is also the Airport Crowne Plaza that is about 2 years old. It's very nice and has shuttle service, They also accept small pets

Panama: 63 Year=Old Woman:

I live in Puerto Armuelles, a beach town. There are a LOT of single women here, all of which are very happy to be here. In fact, I have a new friend who just moved here with her 7 little dogs. My cost of living dropped by 2/3. If you want to discuss this more, please pm me
