I need some advice from Canadians..living in Jamaica. ..what is a reputable health insurance I can purchase that isnt too expensive? Can you purchase health insurance in Jamaica if u r a non resident?

I will be moving to Jamaica shortly..I really need some advice on the procedure of buying a car and insurance. My friend will be doing the majority of driving...how does insurance and licencing a vehicle work in Jamaica, my friend is a resident of Jamaica. My bank account is in Canada. ..so purchasing a vehicle what is required? Certified cheque???

I have been to Jamaica numerous times..and lived like a local..no 5 star resorts..The crime problem does concern me..but it us not stopping me from pursuing my dream..I have seen alot here in Jamaica and what really frustrates me is the the corruption in the police force..this has to stop in order for things to improve. I have seen a Jamaican friend being afraid to go to the police because of this. .if you have friends in the police force..u might b ok..other than that keep your fingers crossed u r nog in the wrong place at the wrong time!

I need to know what are the steps in getting permanent residency in Jamaica how long does it take. I am from Canada and want to make my new home there. Want to move soon and does anyone know about how long you can stay there before this happens I have heard you can get extensions please help!!:)
