Hong Kong: American school (ais) vs. International school (hkis):

Hi, I'm an American from northern California and am thinking about relocating to Hong Kong next year. I have a 13-year-old in the 8th grade. I would like to know how the international schools are ranked and also, what are the chances of getting admitted into an ESF school if we don't live in Hong Kong but have relatives living there (Is it o.k. to use my relatives' address?)
