Guatemala: Property Laws:

I am retired and living in Guatemala with my adopted indiginous family. They own lake front property. Can anyone give us information as to exatly what the laws are in regards to lake front property (i.e. what the government owns and what private citizens own and how the 30 year lease is obtained, and is it necessary, etc.) The property is theirs but they have no knowledge as to what the laws and regulations are regarding ownership of lake front property. We are especially interested in knowing where we can obtain OFFICIALl information either by email or otherwise. A related question. How does the new "Ley de Informacion Catastral" affect such ownership and what are their obligations now in regards to this new law. Any information will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
