Global Expat Forum: Bad moving experience from Hong Kong:
We are currently in the middle of a dispute with the moving company that handled our move from Hong Kong to Italy: Asia Express (AE).
Some of our personal belongings had to be shipped to our summer house in France and others to our new residence in Italy. Although all items had been clearly identified AE mixed up items and sent to Italy items that should have been shipped to France and the other way round.
However, more than the mistake itself the really bad experience comes from the fact that they denied any responsibility in the mistakes, refused to assume any extra cost and rejected any proposal for indemnification.
In short, these guys are not only incompetent but show really bad faith in business. Our advice: better stay away from them. They are certainly other moving companies in Hong Kong providing better services. Finally we have been told that other French families had similar bad experiences with them.
Italy: Housing in Florence:
My company gives a 20 KEUR housing allowance. I would like to find a 2 to 3-bedroom apartment in Florence. Is it OK? Is the historical centre a convenient location?
Thanks for teh feedback.
Hong Kong: Housing in hk:
My company want s to give me a 75 KUSD yearly housing allowance.
I am married with 2 kids.
Is it a reasonnable allowance ?
What kind of housing (size) can I pretend to with this sum ?
Thanks for the help.
