Fiji is very strict regarding immigration. If you want to reside there, you will have to provide police and medical reports and you have to prove that you can support yourself.

Fiji: Cost of moving to Fiji:

I would like to hear from people who have recently moved to Fiji....say in the past 6-12 months......about the cost of moving there. We are thinking that we will need a 20foot container for household goods and then have two dogs to take with us as well. We are relocating from Melbourne, Australia. Would appreciate approximate costs, just putting the "feelers" out there! Thanks in advance.

Hello Johnny Yeah, feel your pain regarding Australia! It's certainly changed for the worse and that's why we also plan to exit in 2016 and relocate to Fiji. Most probably around the same time as you are heading over. We have done a lot of research and figured out what we need to do in order to make it happen. Only problem is that Fiji laws and govt rulings have changed in recent times, so you need to keeping looking online and speaking directly with others, to try to sort out what is current from old websites or info that is still hanging around and never been deleted. There is a member on this forum named BillWill.......look him up and make contact, as we have. He is very helpful. He is a freight forwarding agent (amongst other things) and can look after all the paperwork etc. He is our "go to" guy! At present we have narrowed down our options for towns to live, to 2. One on Vanua Levu and the other on Viti Levu. Where are you hoping to move? Wishing you a merry xmas....we anticipate this is our last one in Australia and are very excited about it! Cheers

Pheebobafet, I would be interested to know how your move to Fiji goes, as my husband and I wish to move there next year. Melbourne to Savusavu. We plan to buy real estate there after selling everything up here. Which part of Fiji are you moving to? Any other info you can provide would be great....it's a steep learning curve! Cheers, Aly
