I believe travelers have the right to bring up to $500 worth of "gifts". I am bringing my husband a saw-sal. I took it out of the box and wrapped it in a big towel. The extra blades are in another suitcase. I'll let our forum know if I have any problems. Buen viaje!

Hola, We purchased like this. We have a trusted Nica lawyer. He wrote up the papers. We met face to face with the owners, they met us at the property to survey, twice. From the states we waited for all paper work to be completed and made one more trip back, with cash stuffed in our carryons. Met in lawyers office with owners and completed the transaction. I would not do it any other way. Get references for your lawyer from friends. It's still all risky because we are buying in a foreign country. Life is too short to not risk and be happy, at least for a few years. Hope it all works out for all of us! T.

Hola! I am a member and find so many helpful ideas here. Grateful you posted about fruit trees. We have a small finca near Leon and want to purchase large trees to plant around our house for shade. We would love almendros if they are 5-6 feet. Did Don Saul have anything like this? Gracias and buena suerte en la finca frutal! We will come to buy when ready! ;)
