Saint Lucia: Right place for extended vacation for mil retiree?:
Hi, I have been retired from the military for over 12 years now, and last winter I was looking for a place to stay and live during the winter months we have in Canada. I'm now working here and enjoy life in St. Lucia. I have met a few retired military people here and most love it here. As for living cost, you can rent from $300 dollars a month to the sky is the limit. I live in a place call Rodney Bar Area, it has all the shopping you need and the beaches are awesome. All within a 5 min walk. As for laid back there is no other place like this on earth. The locals are the friendliest people I know.
If you have any question don't hesitate to ask, there's also a few website that will show you rental properties, but you need to be here to negotiate rent and to see for yourself what and where you are going to be living.
Saint Lucia: I love cycling - can I do it in St. Lucia?:
Hi Nicole, I may not be the best person to answer this question as I've only been here a week, but here a link to a video on YouTube on the roads in St-Lucia, https://youtu.be/QxFMQ9lcVg0 , the first bit is the easy bit. So, if you feel you can bike on these roads go for it, but get yourself some good medical insurance.
Saint Lucia: Visit:
Good morning, I have finally arrive in St-Lucie and was wondering where most expat hang out? I'm Canadian and would like to meet other Canadian if possible, but I'm not fussy, maybe a chat over a cold one. I'm staying in Ridney Bay so if anyone is around and free, I'll be here for the next two weeks.
Saint Lucia: Thinking of moving to St-Lucia from Canada:
Hi, I'm a retired Ex-military and thinking of moving to St-Lucia full time or perhaps part time. I'm going down this winter for a two weeks visit, planning on living off resort to get to know the place, and I was wondering if there was any Canadian living in St-Lucia that could clarify a few question for me, pension, medical, etc... Also can anyone suggest a good place to live for two weeks? Mid Jan-Feb. Thank you, much appreciated
