Panama: Advice on San Carlos:
Pretty sure you questions were answered last week
Panama: Crime in PTY:
Live in Coronado and have not felt unsafe. Not sure where this original post has come from
Panama: Kathleen Peddicord:
Her articles are very slanted. Life in Panama is not like she wants you to picture. She doesn't talk about how. Expats get scammed all the time. She wants you to believe that healthcare is great, trust me it is not. The health care is very poor. Some medications are not available. Unless you have international health care you will not receive any care. Physicians accept cash only ( wonder why). The. hospitals are not obligated to take care of you and will put you on thestreetregardless of you physical condition. Punta Pacifica is not part of Hopkins
The pensionado program is not as it appears. Be ready for the filth and poverty. It is overwhelming and so very sad. The poverty is always in your face. It upset me so badly I had to come back to my home country.
Still want to move to Panama??
Panama: Personal injury:
Can I file suit against a business , corporation for negligence resulting in injury and the need for treatment in Panama. I fell in a shopping center parking lot resulting in shoulder injury because the steep steps to get into the place of business did not have a handrail.
Panama: allowable deductions for US taxes:
Simple answer yes. You have to meet certain income vs.itemized deductions. Find a good CPA.
Panama: Reputalble Realator:
NEVER EVER wire money to someone you have never met. Most U.S. Banks will tell you to do a wire transfer to an account in Panama is at your own risk and they will not help you if things go south.
Panama: Pensionado:
Can some one please tell me what the Pensionado is applied to and what it does not ?
Am finding that several businesses and medical practitioners are not honorring this law. What happens when it is not honored? Is there any enforcement of this??
Panama: Postal service in Panama City:
Very short answer to your question. There is no postal system in Panama. You must rent a box to receive mail either at Global Express or Mailboxes, etc
Panama: Carlitos San Carlos:
Been there frequently and we love it! Never had a problem with food or service.
Panama: Health care in Panama City:
Expat Beware, we just experienced a true nightmare at Punta Pacifica. Two weeks after our arrival my husband required emergency surgery. He is retired U.S. Military so we never dreamed this nightmare could occur. We had to pay in cash before they would admit him.OK I get that, however when it was time for discharge from the hospital 4 days later they would not allow him to leave. They actually had an armed security offical block the door till we paid them $15,000. in cash. I could not immediately raise that kind of cash so they forced him to remain in the hospital with an armed guard at the door! I am still shaken and scared , never having anything like this occur.
