Mexico: Crime in Mexico?:
This reminds me of my visit to Belize many years ago. I was told that about the only TV stations that they could watch there were out of Chicago. Therefore, they thought that the entire US was just like Chicago. Yes, dangerous crime is rampant in some parts of Mexico, but if one avoids those areas, then it doesn't become a problem.
Mexico: expat/good climate cities:
I would suggest Chapala or Ajjic, both on Lake Chapala.
Mexico: Want to move:
Do you know where you want to live in Mexico?
Mexico: A different Moving-to-Mexico basis:
Consider the Ajijic/Chapala area. We are about 30 minutes from an international airport and about an hour from Guadalajara, which has excellent medical facilities. Elevation is 5000 ft. This is a wonderful community with many expats but also warm and welcoming locals. Weather is wonderful year-round. There are plenty of resources online for you to get additional information about the area.
Mexico: Earth:
My suggestion would be for you to first sit down with a professional and work through your thoughts of suicide. After you've worked on yourself, you'll be in a much healthier position to decide on your goals and what you need to do next.
Mexico: Lake Chapala:
Rentals vary from area to area, but it's not too hard to find something in the $500-$700 range, Rents in Chapala tend to be a little lower than Ajijic. Utilities are much lower than the US. Transportation is accessible about anywhere. Buses are plentiful as well as taxis and many people just walk. Have you visited the area yet?
Panama: Moving to Panama:
This guy just got off the Mexico forum and asked basically the same questions. He's also been on the Costa Rica forum. His family is vegan, he wants to be able to grow his own food, he wants to home school his children and he's predicting doomsday soon for the US. We gave him basically the same advice that I guess he didn't like so he's moved on.
Mexico: Wanting to move out of the US:
Personally, starsaligned, I don't think you'll be happy anywhere. I read your CR posts and it seems that you are against anything government related. Anywhere you go is going to have a government with laws that you'll have to obey whether it has to do with schooling, vaccinations, land ownership, immigration, healthcare, etc. You originally asked us to convince you that Mexico is the place to move. I think all of the posters agree that Mexico is NOT a good place for you. And I don't know anywhere that is. You could buy some land in North Dakota, build a cabin, live off the grid and hope that no one in your family gets sick enough they that need medical care. Good luck.
Mexico: Steps to take to move to Mexico:
An important step is to narrow down where you want to live in Mexico. On the coast? Near a large city? Hot and humid or more temperate weather? You get the idea. Do an online search for best places to live in Mexico quiz, narrow your choices and then VISIT! I can't stress how important visits are before a move. Maybe you can arrange to visit some schools in the area while you're here. Good luck.
Mexico: Residence Visa requirements:
Yes, I printed all of my account activity for the previous six months. I might have highlighted the deposits.
