Morocco: Price for maid/cleaning/cook:
Hi, I lived in Morocco for 5 years and had a wonderful housekeeper from Fez. After I left (I was in Casablanca then Tangiers), she moved back home. She is now a mother and NOT looking for full time work, but maybe part time work would suit her. She is by far the best housekeeper I have ever had, very clean, thorough and honest. If you would like more information, please contact me privately. Thank you, Icaru
Morocco: Buying a car in Morocco:
Hi, one good place to look is on a website called "www.voitureaumaroc.com". It lists sales all over Morocco. I just sold my car there. However, you want to be careful of scams, and any car you buy second hand you had best triple check the condition of the car with a reputable garage, before finalizing the sale. Also, many people try to sell cars that are imported and on which the customs have not been paid. Some of these cars are stolen, so again, be careful.
As I too want to buy a secondhand car, someone offered me an automatic Honda Jazz from 2009 (thus still under warranty). They are great little cars. The budget was more than I can spend, but if it interests you send me a PM and I will pass you the sellers' details.
Italy: Seeking 12-24 month lease Florence outskirts:
Hello, I will be moving to Florence this summer, with my son who is 4. He is enrolled in a school in Via San Gallo. I am looking for a furnished or unfurnished flat on the outskirts of Florence with either a terrace or a small gated garden, that is within comfortable reach of his school by foot or car (car ok). The lease would be for 12-24 months, the rent guaranteed, and references available. We also have two small, old and quiet dogs who sleep all day and don't bark.
Budget is about 1200 euros/month.
Please PM me if you have anything to offer, or have any suggestions of good agencies/people whom I can contact.
Thanks very much,
Icaru

Morocco: American Woman Joining Husband in Morocco:
Hi, sorry you are not getting any helpful answers ; sadly, i didn't move from the US so can't answer many of your questions but I just wanted to say that Meknes is a VERY small town, and therefore the expat community is proportionally small. If you have no specific reason to chose Meknes, you might want to consider Fes which is larger, DOES have an expat community year around and is about 50kms from Meknes. The transition to Fes might be a little easier on you than to Meknes.
I hope you are able to find helpful answers to your questions.
Good luck with the move,
Morocco: Monving to Tangier with children:
hi, i have a son who is 4. we live in the Marchan area, which is right above the Kasbah but it is quieter and more "airy". There is also a large square where children can play at leisure which is of course nice. The good thing about Marchan is that it is so close to the old medina and the kasbah that you don't necessarily need a car all the time. the newer areas are nice but they are farther away, and you can't do much without a car. even though Tangiers is a small city, it has more and more traffic, especially at peak hours and in the summer it's a nightmare, so you might want to consider that when you decide where you want to live.
I will be moving out of Morocco in the summer and will be renting out my flat which has a garden and two terraces. I may not be ideal for you since you must wait several months, but if you don't find something suitable feel free to contact me any time for a visit.
Good luck with your new life here,
Morocco: Shipping from US:
Thanks Moroccorox for clarifying; I agree that with a little effort and imagination, you can get pretty much everything here and what you can't get literally, good substitutes can be found. That's part of the joy of living in and discovering a new culture -- Also, for those of you living in Casablanca, there are several good small grocery stores that sell many foreign products (with prices to match). One of them is in the CIL residential neighbourhood. It's very well known.
Enjoy ))
Morocco: Estate agent fees:
Hi, i hope you found the answer to your question, but my experience is that yes, that is the normal rate for real estate agents. They get paid one months' rent from the renter, and the same amount from the owner. This is how it works unless you agree differently beforehand.
These rates apply to REAL agents ; the officious agents who "work the streets" so to speak, get about half of that.
Hope you are enjoying tangiers.
Morocco: Mom with children living in Tanger, are ther more?:

Italy: Any opinions about Ambrits' International in Rome / Day Care center in Rome?:
Hello,
can anyone recommend a bilingual (english-italian) daycare center for a 4 year old boy, preferably in the southern part of Rome (San Paolo/Garbatella area)?
I would also appreciate feedback on Ambrit's International School.
Thanks very much,
Icaru
