United States: I Need Help! Looking to move to Florida:

Hi everyone, I am a Canadian citizen who recently graduated from college (marketing and advertising communications management), and am now looking to take the next step with my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years who lives in Florida. I am just curious if anyone knows which steps I should take to get there the soonest. I am preparing to propose and we will elope at the end of the year. Should I apply for a fiance visa or should i just wait until we're married to get a spousal visa and apply for residency? And tips or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
