Nicaragua: what is it like:
I agree totally with what key west said. Lived in San Juan del Sur for 4.5 years . I came to Nicaragua single and left with a baby girl. Luckily the mother let me raise our daughter here in USA with my mother instead of growing up in Nicaragua. No matter where you will go in that country you will be the new face in town and everyone will talk about you and know about you within weeks if you make a certain town your hometown. Great advice don't meet a girl in a casino or bar to say the least. There intentions will be obvious. I Did not start dating anyone until after my first year living in Nicaragua. Don't get trigger happy and fall in love in the first few weeks your there. Give it time as there are good girls there but your not going to find them in 30 days I can tell you that and the ones that throw themselves to you in the first few weeks you will know they have alternative plans.
I hope that helps
Nicaragua: Residency:
This is a dead end process. I made the mistake of hiring an attorney which claims you will get your residency 100%. Cost me $1500 and all I did was get a run around. I had all the papers , police report, letter from doctor is Usa , INTERPOL' police report, Virginia police report, and the process took over 10 months. I have given up on the process it's a freaking nightmare . YOU CANNOT TRUST ANYONE IN THAT COUNTRY.
Nicaragua: Lawyer - Garcia & Bodan:
Overpriced and expierenced the same issue in San Juan del Sur. They were my lawyer for my purchase of my condo. I would never use them again. Complete Rip off
Nicaragua: registering my Daughter with US Embassy. and Green Card information:
I am looking for information in reference to my daughter that was born on Aug 7th in Nicaragua. I am a US citizen and my Fiancee is Nicaraguan. We have been together for over 3 years and I lived in Nicaragua from 4/2011 until 12/2014 when I returned to the United States to accept a new job offer I had been offered. I have read all about what I need to do to register my daughter to receive an American Passport and have already got an appt at the embassy in late oct for our interview with the mother ,my daughter and myself. I am getting married to my longtime girlfriend before our appt at the embassy and would like to submit her application for an Immigration card and some point bring my daughter and soon to be wife to the United States. Does anyone know what I must do for the process to go smoothly and what I will be expecting to look for in length of time for my wife to receive her immigration card.( I have heard between 6-8 month ) I realize I will need to bring our marriage license with us and her passport from Nicaragua. Can we do both appts in the same day at the embassy? As I mentioned above I understand everything I must do for my daughter and I have already filled out the paperwork and all the forms but really would like information in regards to the procedure to get my wife an Immigration Visa(Green Card). Thanks and look forward to hearing some comments , Again our overall goal is to have my daughter and my wife with me in the United States in less than a year
Nicaragua: paperwork for Nica residency:
I just went through the entire process and actually did my last part today as I fly back to Nicaragua Tuesday. I had to go to my state of
Birth (North Carolina) and get my birth certificate Apolstied and was given a certificate. You do not have to go the embassy (nucaraguan as some lawyers tell you
Nicaragua: how to stay in nicaragua for a year:
I lived in Nicaragua for three years up until last January. I owned a business so maybe that is why it was easier for me to constantly renew my Visa in Rivas every 90 days. However I had my attorney handle everything at the immigration office and all I had to do was just show up and sign a few documents and pay like $50 and I never left the country for 2 years, it also could be the fact I had submitted for my residency and was waiting.for it to process. I can tell you this. It is possible to make a border run to Costa Rica and literally put your foot in the country and walk back to Nicaragua all in the a matter of 15 mins. I know tons of people that did it and I have done it in the past as well. There is no need to spen 3 days in Costa Rica
Nicaragua: Nicaraguan Baby- American Father, Nicaraguan Mother:
I am looking for information on how to handle the situation I am about to be in. I have lived in Nicaragua for the past three years and own a Condo (Since 2012 ) in San Juan Del Sur and have been in a relationship with my girlfriend for over 3 years. I found out a few months ago she is pregnant with my child and decided to come back to the States to work so I can provide better life for my child. The baby will be born next month and my ideal dream would be to bring the baby and the Mother to the United States with me after the baby is born. I would like to try and get a Visa for the mother to come back with me to the States and not get Married, but I am weighing my options now. I know what I need to do after the baby is born to get her an American Passport and would like to have the baby and the Mother to accompany me in Virginia. Is this possible without getting married? I would appreciate if anyone knows how to handle this situation.
Thank you
