"On the make."

Colombia: Fear of Flying (Metaphor?):
Steve
When you got back to the world were you not struck by the clean efficient airport?
Ease of retrieving luggage?
Not having to do battle with taxi over the fare?
Or yell at him to slow down drive safely?
Roads with no giant potholes?
All drivers stop at signs, take their place in easing into traffic?
No blaring salsa sounds?
Mail delivered ;appointments made and kept timely?
Internet with authentic high speed?
Power stays steady?
Cable is reliable; dental and medical care at hand?
911 answers instantaneously. and fire and police almost as quickly.
I wondered at the deep angst expressed by Colombians who had lived in El Norte.
Why would they NOT prefer that living to what Sur America has to offer.
Taxes are lower and so is cost of living but
nowhere does the phrase "you get what you pay for" have greater meaning.
Panama: Lawyer:
I would like to concur with stgibson that immigration office in PTY is total madness.
Would not wish it on anyone.

Panama: Does carne de residente permanente have expiration date?:
My carne de residente permanente shows an expedia date , and an expira date of 10 years later.

I am now told that this is not so and that others are truely permanent with no expedia/expira date.
Does your carne include such dates on it?
Colombia: Filandia vs Armenia redux:
Forgot one major factor to add yo the mix.
Absence of mosquitos and those other nasty ankle biters ...chiggers? No see ums,? Whatever they are called their name should be changed to the devil.
Armenia has muchos; Filandia none??
I would rather take my chances with a 25 minute ride in a medical emergency then suffer every day and night from those blood suckers.
Filandia is taking the lead.....
Panama: 63 Year=Old Woman:
But P.A. is a VERY hot and mosquito/ infested town.
Please go there and check it out.
I found it a most undesireable place to visit, let alone live.
But to each his or her own.
Some folks do like it, it seems.
Colombia: What you like and don't like in Medellin:

El graspo de Uva,cl.9#43b-55.
In fact, with a nod to Bobfrozen,
this is authenic and not at all sterile.
His pasta dough is made on a table near his pizza oven, just like nona made it back in Penna.many long years ago.
