Jamaica: pensioner permanent residency:

Has anyone gone through the process of getting permanent residency as a pensioner? Is there a minimum monthly amount required? If hubby it the recipient, can myself and daughter get permanent residency under his pension? I have tried finding this information on the PICA website and am unable to find anything.

@Jaminco, do you have a rough idea of what the charges are for a non-Jamican shipping small appliances, clothing etc are? I heard they evaluate clothes and shoes, etc as new for a higher payment.

I am so glad you asked that question! I am looking forward to some answers. Also, I am seeing that 19-22% is the standard finance rate unless you use ToyotaJamaica finance which is 8% but you have to buy a Toyota. Anyone know anything different than that?

Jamaica: relocation package:

Has anyone successfully negotiated a relocation package with their employer for their move to Jamaica? Would you mind sharing appx how much it took for you to relocate-rent, setting up utilities, etc.?

We will be moving to Kingston and may not have our work visa before landing. I know you are supposed to have a round trip ticket but has anyone every been asked for one? Has anyone every entered with a one way ticket?

Jamaica: Map with Kingston Divisions:

I have been trying to find a map that has the areas noted, like Kingston 6 and Kingston 8 and have been unable to find one. Does anyone know where I can find one? Also we are looking at rentals in Kingston 6 and 8 as our daughter will enroll at UWI, any other areas around there we should look?
