It's hard to make money in Bulgaria this is the only disadvantage but if u are willing to live frugally and off the land it's the place to be... Village life in Bulgaria is beautiful. The land is fertile and the weather gorgeous. u can eat seasonal fruit and veg that is so tasty. Fresh milk, meat and eggs are wonderful. Finally, life is just laid back... hey there. why do u want to pay the middle man? do everything yourself. first find someone that you trust. then get a translator. go to the city/village where you want to settle. and buy direct through a notary.
