Saudi Arabia: 330 days out of USA:
The 330 days apply to the first year you are overseas. If you arrived about a month ago that means that when it's tax time you can extend the time you have to submit your tax return. Tax time is normally April 15th, but being overseas you get a 2 month extension and then you can apply for another extension to cover the 12 months. Now the good news. Once you complete a year from January 1st to December 31st out of the US you are classified as a resident of the country you are in. I was in Saudi for 16 years and once I completed that one year Jan-Dec., you can come back to the US as much as you want without being afraid of having to pay tax on all you make. So if you work all of 2017 out of the US in Saudi you are then a confide resident of Saudi Arabia. When you come back into the US and the airline gives you an entry form and where it ask country of residence, write Saudi Arabia.
On the tax for this year and tax extensions talk to a good tax accountant who has dealt overseas taxes. After I got through the first year or so, I used Turbo Tax and did my own taxes. Turbo Tax has all of the tax forms you need for working overseas and does all of the calculations for you.
Good Luck.
Saudi Arabia: What should I buy before moving to Saudi Arabia?:
I hope you are moving there with your Husband. You can find most everything you need in Saudi. However, why in God name do you want to go to Saudi Arabia. Not a place for women. Be careful.
Saudi Arabia: New in Jeddah:
Hi, I use to live in Jeddah and it is a good place to meet Expats. There are many things that happen in Jeddah. If you like to scuba dive or would like to learn I can give you the name of an instructor. There are some great beached North of Jeddah that are ran by the hotels and are basically private where women can wear bathing suits, etc. There are British groups who when I was there put on plays, desert outings, etc. Hope you have a good time in Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia: Religous Materials:
I lived and worked in Saudi Arabia for over 14 years and can tell you that some things will not make it through the inspection at the airport. However, with your husband being Saudi that may make a difference. I would talk to your husband and see what he thinks. I would also say it may depend on how many you have and the size. Good luck and God bless.
Saudi Arabia: Moving to KSA for first time:
Any world wide shipper can help you with the customs paperwork. Nothing is cheap. Just make sure that you have all items listed and that the boxes and paperwork match. Packing forms numbered 1, 2, 3, etc., and that the packing forms match the numbers on the boxes.
I lived in Saudi for over 14 years and it is a different world. Don't know which city you are going to, but read up on things as much as possible. Get use to shopping around the prayer times since they close all stores for prayer time. Food wise you can find most foods in the grocery stores. If you are in the Eastern Province around Dammam you can escape and go to Bahrain for alcohol if you drink. Driving is one of the most hazardous things about Saudi Arabia. Be careful on the roads. Otherwise enjoy you new adventure.
Saudi Arabia: moving to rabigh soon:
I will try to answer some of your questions.
1. Fast food in Rabigh. They may have now but a few years ago there were no fast food there.
2. On the drivers license your employer should help you get a Saudi drivers license. Purchasing a car is usually easy. Look for adds where people are selling their car or you can go to a dealership.
3. There are not any dive shops in Rabigh. The dive shops are in Jeddah and most people dive from the hotel beaches in North of Jeddah. If you don't dive and want to learn let me know and I can put up in contact with an instructor in Jeddah. If you know how to dive enjoy diving there.
4.For internet go to Mobily or STC and get their 4G USB stick. Also buy a phone there unless you have a phone that is not locked. There is a satellite direct internet you can get but it is very expensive, approximately $1,000.00USD for 6 months. The USB 4G sticks are good and fast and cost $50.00-80.00USD per month. However, when you get anything in Saudi you pay for a year of service. STC and Mobily sometimes have some good deals. Just need to check them out.
5.Satellite TV. Contact OSN. The original set up and one years service will cost you roughly $1,000.00USD. Get the big decoder box because it allows you to tape programs. I had it and the service is great. They come out and set up everything. Just go to OSC.com.
Hope this helps.

Saudi Arabia: Ras Tenura:
Being busy at home working, etc., will change when you go to Saudi Arabia. It's difficult for wives to find work within Aramco and even more difficult in the local market. There are activities you can get involved in with the Aramco camp. If you can get a job with Aramco that would be good, but don't count on it. The Aramco camp is nice and there is the small town of Rahima just outside the Aramco camp. Good luck and hope you enjoy Saudi Arabia. I spent 16 years there and just left.
On the security side of things it's usually not a problem within Aramco, but when you go outside of Aramco you have to be careful where you travel.
Saudi Arabia: Saudi employer threat:
If you are not ever coming back to Saudi Arabia don't worry about it. I'm leaving at the end of this month and my company is trying to pull stupid crap too. The companies in Saudi Arabia have really gone down hill over the years. I will never return to this God forsaken country.
Saudi Arabia: Moving to rabigh:
Rabigh is a desert town and nothing to do there. It is s slummy town. For doing things you have to go to Jeddah. If you like scuba diving I can hook you up with people there. If you don't scuba dive and want to learn I can help you there too. The Aramco camp does have a nice beach area. But you will probably have to get in good with someone to gain access.
I lived in Jeddah for 5 years and enjoyed it. If you would like to learn to square dance I can put you in touch with people who run a square dance club. The square dance club has been in Jeddah for close to 70 years.
There are things to do in Jeddah but you need to get to know people. I would advise to try to find a place to live other than Rabigh. You need to live in a compound that has security and from what I know about Rabigh there are not any secure compounds.
Take care and good luck.

Saudi Arabia: Visa:
Don't know who your husband will be working for but unless the paperwork has already been started to get his visa it may take up to 4 months to get a visa. I have a friend who worked in Saudi before and it took him almost 4 months to get all of the paperwork done and get a visa to enter Saudi. I would wait to see if he get the job or not. Then talk to the company to find out how long it will take to get all of the paperwork through the Saudi Embassy and get his visa. Good luck
