Spain: Barcelona:
Good morning all. My husband and I are relocating to Barcelona the first of May.
Any info on neighborhoods and/or rental agents would be gratefully received. We have a relatively limited budget--no more than 1500 euros per month and need 2 bedrooms and hopefully 2 bathrooms.
Thanks, Pat
Spain: Spanish Golden Visa:
Doesn't this require at $500,000 real estate purchase for each person? Meaning if you are a couple a $1Million investment?
Spain: Permanent Relocation Investigation:
You may want to check--since these are all Schangen treaty countries you may only have 90 days total rather than 90 in each
Spain: Info please:
Probably best to assume you will need get a non-lucrative non-EU visa. Don't know about your UK pensions since we are from USA.
Spain: retiring in Spain:
My husband and I are in our late 60's and have just retired and moved to Spain.. We are currently living in Madrid planning on stay here until May then moving on to Barcelona and then South. Madrid is a bit expensive and we hear Barcelona is more expensive. We love it here--I would advise a mid-length visit before deciding to move forever:)
Spain: Visa necessary for short stay?:
There are international insurance companies which sell what you usually need to obtain your visa. We needed to show proof of a paid up plan at the NYC embassy. Once we got here and got our residency cards we have switched to a local company with doctor visits , dental etc. Less than what we paid for Medicare and supplemental in the States although we kept our Medicare due to the penalties involved in restarting when/if we return to the States. Hope that helps. If you want company names let me know. Pat
Spain: resident visa:
This visa only allows you to get into the country I believe. Once you get here you need to beta "padrone" for which you usually need a lease of at least 6 months. Then you must file for residency with the national police. department in the town where you are living. That residency card is what allows you to live in Spain--must be renewed yearly and you are supposed to report any change of address--this seems to be a census type of thing. Anyone else with different info? Pat
Spain: Arrived in Madrid:
My husband and I arrived in Madrid this week. We have a non-lucrative visa and must now take the next step so we can stay in Spain for several years. The information on getting residency card is very confusing and many times conflicting. Is there an US citizen out there who can advise us? Thanks, Pat
Spain: bringing a dog to spain:
We brought our cat with us to Madrid in Sept. The paperwork in the States was like the previous post. However, getting her out of the Madrid Airport was complicated--had to go to cargo carrier company pay a tax then go to another Gov't office to have a vet sign off on the paperwork (not the cat, interestingly) then back to the shipper to pick her up--all in all about three hours of going from place to place and paying fees/taxes.
Spain: Woman on her own moving to Cadiz:
Are you in the USA? if so, you will need to get a residential type visa from your "local" Spanish counsulate. You can find the application online. Let me know if you need anything more, we just finished the process--picked up visas from NYC consulate today. Traveling to Spain in Sept. Pat
