Costa Rica: Best areas to visit on initial scouting trip:

My husband & are I traveling to CR for a few weeks next year. This will be our initial trip to scout it out as a potential country for retirement in a few years. Can you recommend regions, areas, towns, etc. that we should check out on this initial trip? We would like to experience as much of the country as possible. Mountains, beach, cities, north, south, east, west, etc. I know 2 weeks isn't enough to explore every area so I am hopeful the participants on this forum can suggest favorites for soon to be US retired expats. Thank you!

Belize: Visit to Belize:

FrostyMug & Mike00 - looks like Belize it the popular choice for all of us looking for a great place to retire in a few years. My husband & are a thinking of a trip in 2017 (not sure when), planning on at least 2 weeks and renting several places, to get a feel for the country. Plan to VRBO or something for about 3 days in the jungle, on the beach & up north. I will definitely be interested to hear how your trips go!!

Portugal: Lisbon Neighborhoods:

My husband & I are just starting our search for the right place to retire & Portugal is on our short list. We are visiting Lisbon in August 2016. We are interested to know the neighborhoods we should explore, if there are expats that would be willing to meet to discuss what it like to live in Portugal with us. We are not interested in meeting with organizations/people who want to sell us anything, just friendly people who have already made the move.
