Spain: Utterly confused. Considering moving my family to Spain or France. Craving insight from those who've done it!:
Hi Utterly confused, it sounds like you`ve done an awful lot of research , and have tons of enthusiasm, but too much info and choices. If you go to/rent at one or two places you really liked best, then follow your gut feeling, trust instincts, without losing the most necessary practicalities, it might go smoother and more satisfying in the longterm.Maybe thats not your style, but just a thought, hope it helps. yrs teresa
Spain: Woman on her own moving to Cadiz:
Hi there,
I`m a retired woman on her own relocated recently , but not to the south , I`m in the Costa Brava and loving it here. Its not quite so fiercely hot, and still a mild winter.
I found it a huge challenge , but very rewarding , never regretted pulling up roots and settling here.
But did not speak Espanol so it was quite hard at first. The people here are friendly and helpful I find, but a maze of paperwork and officialdom to get through , N.I.E. number, getting a medico, all sorts of stuff. Cannot help you with Cadiz but I know a lady there called Valerie , and perhaps she can tell you more.Goodluck, Teresa
