Im a british student looking at the possibility of marrying my American Girlfriend, but I am worried by the visa processing times and the costs. As students, niether me nor my girlfriend have much money, and i worry that I will have to take out a loan to prove im financially capable. How much does the US government ask you to have in funds in order to get a fiancee/spouse visa? Also, is it better to go to America on a fiancee visa then get the spouse visa processed while im there, or just to get married in the UK then apply for a spouse visa? Thanks
