Kuwait: scuba clubs:

Hi All, I am 6 months new to Kuwait and have recently been scuba certified along with 8 of my co-workers. Does anyone know of a dive club here or have any info on dive trips or just boat rentals. Thanks Steve

Kuwait: Housing in Kuwait?:

Hi, There are a few sites my-pip.com q8find.com aaahousing.com and frostrealestate.com. I am currently looking and have used these as references to get an idea of what to expect, the only problem is most of the ads are out dated. I did find a large 3 bedroom 2 bath accross from the Hilton for 350kd. The place was huge(too big for me) The only other way that I have found is to drive around and look for signs and call. Good Luck! Steve

Kuwait: New to Kuwait:

Hi Lextar, I am also new to Kuwait and have experienced a lot of what you are asking. Housing has been my biggest hurdle. I have looked up and down the gulf coast. There are a couple of good web sites. www.my-pip.com and q8find.com. check them out and you will get a good idea on the costs and types of accommodations available, although don't expect the flats and villas to be available because the ads are outdated but there are high-rises going up everywhere. Driving is crazy but not that bad. Once you get past all the horn honking and fast drivers you will be fine. I don't know about leasing or buying although I know a co-worker leased a midsized car for around $400.00 a month and he didn't complain much about the insurance cost. I am currently staying at the Hilton and their health club memberships are about 400kd per year and the have one tennis court. As far as you compensation is concerned I wouldn't come here for less than 100k per year and that's if your single and cutting all ties when you leave home. Well that's my take on moving to Kuwait, I have only been here for 3 weeks so I am no expert. Good Luck!!!! Steve

Kuwait: moving to kuwait:

Hello all, I will be moving to Kuwait this month and would like to get some cost info for renting a small apt and what is the best area for Americans to live. Also would like to know what type of internet services are available there and if satellite service is available with English speaking programs. I would sure appreciate any info you all could provide.

Kuwait: buying a vehicle:

Hello All, Can anybody tell me the process for purchasing or leasing a vehicle? Is the insurance expensive? I plan to move there from the U.S. in Nov06 and will have a rental for 60 days, but then I'm on my own. Thanks Steve

Kuwait: moving to kuwait:

Hello all, I will be moving to kuwait in Nov.06 and would like to know how expensive it is to live there. My company will be giving me a housing allowance of about $2500.00 per month. I will be working at Ali Al Saleem and was told to live in the Salwa area. I am looking for an unfurnished apt. in this area. Can anyone tell me how much an Apt. will cost?
