Poland: Need 1-2 bedroom apt in Slupsk:
Hello Polish Expats!
My husband is needing to rent a furnished place in Slupsk, preferably in the city, downtown. My spouse is very busy working 6 days a week so I am doing the leg work from a long ways away. He will take time to look of course. need to be economical and have good heat. any help is greatly appreciated. we are both aware of "expat taxation" when expats are assumed to be wealthy. not the case as you may know,
Thanks for any tips or help. My heritage is Polish but my knowledge of the language could only get me a beer!
Nostrovia!
Poland: Friends in Kraków:
thanks for the invite! looks like the need for a place and Krakow would be at a distance from where living was planned. I do hope you like it there!
Panama: scorpion phobia:
i am late in this discussion but my scourge are fire ants (florida). and i hold the distinction of being swarmed at night in bed in a house with pest control. with horrific result. are there lots of fire ants in panama too?
what to some may be 'phobia' can be a reasonable fear. learn everything you can to protect yourself. try not to let fear drive you away. remember too that true phobias can be treated.
Panama: Nightmare at the "Do-It Center" - Gringos Beware:
I really appreciate your comment. thank you. it is sound reasoning. I also agree that too many people wish to complain and stop there. Many problems that bear mention, are also worthy of action. ie. holding firm to your convictions by standing or speaking up for change. where in panama do you live/stay if i may ask? or recommend for visitor on a budget?
Panama: For anyone considering Panama- we just moved there...and love it!:
I don't know if there is more incorrect as there is prejudice in your statements. It begs one to debate the troubles the US faces, if only to call out the ugliness between the lines of your statement. Troubles, indeed, are formidable yet your argument is 'sentiment' not fact. You say "people should live where they want" then you condemn all these 'wrong people' with 'wrong religion' (Muslims) and nationality (generic immigrants from anywhere i guess) flooding the 'wrong places', like America. Yeah, why don't they just stay in their OWN country while Americans retire to or outright invade whatever country they so choose.
Hip hop blasting?! stores looking bare? Immigrants flooding the US? Crime surging? Did you examine the US budget being commanded by the Pentagon and the established war economy in the US. How about aging baby boomers who can't afford the cost of living? Or millions of Americans dying for lack of health care? Consider the failed and false "drug war" and over flowing prisons. More money spent on prisons than education. These are realities that "blast" at me and many others on a daily basis. Sounds like you have been listening to one too many republican debates and taking them as fact and prophecy. Where are you living again?
Panama: On Disability:
From an expat of the past who may have lost the fearless wanderlust i followed to many places ,..your words are truly priceless BoqueteGirl.
I especially appreciate your kindness and respect for Panamanians. Too often I have seen ugly Americans abroad, Too often disregard for others rings in my ears here at home. You are citizen diplomats. And very good people too. I'd welcome you as a neighbor anytime. Thank you.
Panama: Costs to live in Boquete:
Dear Boquete Girl,
so will you take in a roommate?
how about adopting a sister?
You make it sound so wonderful. Your information is quite wonderful too. Thank you. i am someone stateside who wishes fervently to take your lead but unfortunately, have been detained more than once. nevertheless, i do appreciate your candor and kindness. both are easily apparent.
Panama: Anybody here living around or in Coronado or Gorgona?:
Dear Jesse...I would think you might have many takers. If not. I would be interested. Happy to provide you with info by private message or email. In short...retired therapist in Florida but tight budget. Thanks in advance if we connect. Your email was kind offer for whomever fits best. Good luck! Boeiden@yahoo.com
Panama: overselling by expats:
500K huh? Would you take on a 2nd wife?
Oh and my husband would just have to make a little more space.....I'm originally from badgerland.. At 62 I still don't seem to belong anywhere.
Panama: Electricity off/on 20 times tonight so far:
