Jamaica: moving to Jamica:
Good luck with that!! If you want to LIVE like an American might as well stay where you are! 3 bedroom, gated, pool, etc will only be about $3000 US a month. Have you even been here for an extended time other than in a resort?
Jamaica: Live in jamaica:
With a tourist Visa you'll only get 90 days per visit and without a TRN it may be difficult to rent housing unless you find someone who doesn't care. You didn't mention where in Jamaica you want to stay or if you plan to work or what.
Jamaica: moving to jamaica:
I'm in Mobay (Montego Bay)
Jamaica: 3 Bedroom Apartment in Stony HIll for rent, 450 USD per month:
Guess people never heard of PRIVATE MESSAGES!!!
Jamaica: Can it be done: find 2 parties to share use of apartment?:
Lori, AirBNB
Jamaica: To Rent or to Own - Montego Bay:
Not to burst your bubble... are you a Jamaican National by birth or mother/father? Spouse of a Jamaican National? or already have secured Jamaican Residency per PICA regulations/law?
Jamaica: Marriage Exemption Certificate:
Only if the attorney is a licensed JP.
Jamaica: Thinking about moving to Jamaica:
For the billionth time... unless you are a Jamaican national or your mother and/or father are Jamaican (and you can prove it) you WON'T be able to work. If you do qualify for a work permit and can FIND a job it won't pay much... maybe $800 - $1000 US a month (and that's a good job). If you're a doctor, dentist, etc you'll do better... that is of course after you pass all the exams and get certified.
The best way is to have a secure income, like a pension or SS at about $2000 US a month. Then you can live comfortably.
Vacationing here and living here is 3 different things.
Good luck
Jamaica: INTERNET!!! HELP!!!:
Ebonymermaid, again bad information! Internet here is as stable as it is in the states. (I use it 24/7/365 for work) FLOW customer service, being Jamaican, is far better than I ever had with Comcast or AT&T!
Unless you are here, or someone goes for you FLOW can't step you up. They need your TRN & ID along with a deposit. Installation is almost immediate (depending on where you live.)
Depending on where you're going to be you may be able to get Digicel Fiber but that is mostly in Kingston. There are regional companies but not as good as FLOW.
If you solely want internet you can get 4G service from FLOW, Digicel or Dekal Wireless-Super WiFi.
Remember... this is Jamaica. Slow down, take a breath and relax. Isn't that why you're moving here?
Jamaica: Searching and searching online:
Hello & Welcome Steffanie!
I have to agree with Gardis, unless you find something "under-the-table " or start your own business it'll be almost impossible to find a job here. I wish you all the best.
