Colombia: What's A Gated Community?:

The term "gated community" has been used a lot in this forum, but I'm confused about what that means in Colombia. In Boquete, Panama, it's a community of single family houses. Is it the same in Colombia?

Colombia: Barking Dogs:

The incessantly barking dogs of Panama are unbearable. All day and throughout the night. There are also plenty of crowing roosters, but my main complaint with them is they wake up too early. Do Armenia, Pereira, and Manizales have the barking dog problem? Thx.

Colombia: Bus Luggage Limitations?:

Does anyone know if there is a limitation on items for the bus from Armenia to Pereira? We have 4 large boxes of stuff, 2 suitcases, and 2 medium backpacks. Thx.

Panama: Bus Luggage Limitations?:

Does anyone know if there is a limitation on items for the bus from Armenia to Pereira? We have 4 large boxes of stuff, 2 suitcases, and 2 medium backpacks. Thx.

Panama: Storage in Pereira?:

We need a place to store 4 large boxes of stuff and some luggage while we survey the Zona Cafetera. Are there any storage options in Pereira? Thx.

Colombia: Arriving Armenia Late April-Logistics:

tubes, I'm confused. Which Palermo in Colombia are you referring to. Can't seem to find it on Google maps. Thx.

Colombia: Link To Climate Comparison:

I saw it in this forum but now can't find it. Someone posted hi, low, average temps for popular destinations in the coffee region, including Pereira, Armenia, etc. Hoping to locate the page again. Thx.

Colombia: TP-7 For Wife Needed?:

I read somewhere that if I get a TP-7 retirement visa my wife doesn't also need one. Is this correct? If so, what is the legal residency status she would have as my spouse? Also, she's a 56 year old Brasilan. Does that make her residency requirements any different from a U.S. American? Thx.

Colombia: Fiador in Pereira/Armenia?:

I read somewhere that apartment rentals are possible and easier without fiadors in Pereira (than Medellin). Does this mean apartments in Pereira are more willing to accept 6 months in advance in lieu of 1 or more fiadors or does it mean just a month's security deposit would be accepted, for example? Here's the thing: We're planning to arrive within the next few months but have neither a fiador nor 6 months rent. Does this mean we'd be unwise to come to Colombia? I'm curious about this with the same questions for Armenia. Thx. Paul

Colombia: Muchas Cucarachas?:

I'm reading differing reports about cockroaches in Colombia. My areas of interest are Pereira and Armenia. Most say they are everywhere, but are they a problem in apartment buildings, too, especially several floors up? Does it depend on whether the landlord is fumigating? I guess I'd consider Medellin if cockroaches are under control there. And what about restaurants? Hotels? Someone please tell me that humanity has not been defeated by cockroaches in Colombia. Thx.
