Bermuda: Salary negotiations:
Hello, I'm looking at a job offer where the salary is in negotiation at the moment. I am a professional man in my late 40s with no expensive hobbies, looking for a 1-2 bedroom flat outside Hamilton in a quieter parish: I will be moving on my own to begin with. If I am frugal but not miserly, on average how much can I expect to spend? I know this is a broad question and there is no such thing as 'average' as lifestyles vary widely, but I am looking for a rough ball park figure of what a sensible man can expect to comfortably live on, taking into account rent, contents insurance, commuting, grocery shopping and lunches at work, internet and phone bills and insurance. This, even if not accurate, will help me judge whether a pay offer is worth the move, and how much to negotiate for based on what my disposable income will be. It has to be worth the move after all. Thanks for your help in advance!
Bermuda: Best parish for single person:
Hi, I'm thinking of moving too and will be working in Hamilton. I have visited Bermuda to check it out and just love the place. I was thinking of Warwick as well, and tried the ferry out for commuting, don't fancy the narrow lanes! Could you help me find a reasonable single bedroom place to live around Warwick? If things go well I'm looking at February 2016 for the move.
Bermuda: Salary versus cost of living:
Hello, I read your post and was disappointed that no one's replied to it. I'm walking the same road as you now as I've had a job offer which seems to leave me and my family just enough to get by. I want to move from the UK to make some money as well, not just a paid holiday. Could you please tell me how you got on with your salary negotiations? What is an acceptable salary to support a family of 4, with perhaps a tiny amount of savings to put aside and no expensive tastes? Thanks
