Dominican Republic: Where to try next venture:

Hello everyone. I was in Puerto Plata a few months ago and loved that side of the DR. Here is my question. It is open so I can get a number of ideas. Looking for area underdeveloped on or very near the water on north side. Low cost of living, and low cost of property and or building costs. Not looking for developed areas but nice quite areas not discovered yet. Loved the area and would really like to return. Depending on answers I may come back in a couple weeks, rent a car and check it out. Have heard Luperon that sounds great and my kind of place. Thanks in advance for all your help. Would love to enjoy the second half of my life there with you. Best Allan

Looking for any information on the following. Do you know anybody local that builds bamboo homes? Are there building codes outside the cities that must be followed to build a bamboo home. Is there any issue with land ownership in Ecuador? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Best Allan:))

Cambodia: Owning land:

Read, posts stating outsiders cannot own land, but were lease options. Seems that if a seller is wanting to sell they want x dollars now. Not sure if they would settle for a lease. However I am interested in ownership issues, if it is true and non Cambodian cannot own land. How about the dwelling on the property? Doing the research now to determine where to focus on.
