Philippines: leaving phils for 1st time:

If you had proof of the ticket scam you could report that. Beyond that " crab mentality" sad to say is not illegal in the Philippines. The BI employee would just fall back on enforcing the rules.

Philippines: Medicare debacle:

Janwillem: maybe I am missing part of the story. Is your claim back in the USA? Medicare does not work once you cross the border.

Philippines: Business Opportunity for Folks with Contacts in Japan:

As soon as they use the word " amazing" I say " give me three steps Mister and you won't see me no more " LOL

Philippines: Property taxes:

Example here my Gals Mom inherited one hectare from her parents. She owns this one hectare of rice land along with 7 or 8 brothers and Sisters. Some of which actually found people to make pawn loans on it. Already told my gal when she inherits her share just gift it to one of her brothers or sisters. No way do I want to be involved in sorting out that mess.

Philippines: Filipino courtesy:

Charkee: Discovered that Spanish thing as well. Watching a movie where one character spoke Spanish my gal noticed she was catching words, sometimes enough to actually get the gist of what was being said.

Philippines: Expired credit/debit card:

Remember too mail is really " snail mail" in Phil. From the USA it is usually three or four weeks. Unlike some reports however I have never had a problem with PhilPost.

Philippines: any advices on driving!:

I've driven in total for over 50 years and here for about two. The number one thing and cannot repeat it enough DRIVE DEFENSIVE. Do not let a life time of inbred logic lull you into a wreck. Logic has nothing to do with driving here. Example: pull up to a corner, apply brakes and signa a left turn. Logic would say the guy behind you will note you are going to turn. No here they will decide to pass you and do so floored and blowing their horn. BE PREPARED!

Philippines: Philhealth:

Medicare does not work outside of the USA or US Territory. Closest " territory " is Guam. About three hour flight away. Private insurance usually not either but ask your agent or call them to verify.

Philippines: Trump executive order allowing travel from Phils to US:

If you mean Visa Free 30 day entry for Filipino into the USA pretty sure it is a warmed over hoax from 2014. Wish it was true so I could easily take my gal but don't think it is real. Saw it on another site.

Philippines: Coal Power Plants:

Not coal mines in Bataan but a coal fired power plant. Our new President seems bent on keeping them even in the face of environmental objections. But he is prone to change overnight so who knows? http://www.rappler.com/move-ph/162158-families-near-bataan-coal-plant-face-displacement
