Fiji: This expat site !!!!!:
your conspiracy theory is intriguing but I think the reality is that Fiji is so small so the fields don't populate because there is nothing to put there. The same template is used for all countries, for Costa Rica there are plenty of entries, ads will rotate, real estate will roll, but for Fiji, not so much. So on the right you'll see real estate for other countries. They are depend on listings, no one from Fiji is listing there, they don't have to because demand is high and supply is low. Overall Fiji seems behind in many areas, including social media and media based marketing. I haven't been there yet but I imagine it'll be a bit like going back in time. That's not a bad thing, it's opportunity at its finest because its open and what's new has already vetted elsewhere.
Fiji: Considering the MOVE n appreciate input please !:
Hi Johny, I am an American moving to Fiji in January for a 3 year work contract. So I am not there yet. I am early 50s, never married, own investment properties in Texas. I can let you know my experiences after I get there but I MUST live in Suva because I will be lecturing at University of the South Pacific, so my experience may not be comparable to your expectations. Fiji: sight unseen - moving to Suva Jan 2016:
Hi, I am moving to Suva, Fiji. I have never been there. I accepted a work contract in Suva. There does not seem to be many resources for Fiji as other countries. Is there an Expat community in Suva? What should I definitely bring with me that might be hard to get there? I hope to rent a furnished room and use public transit. thanks!

Fiji: Retiring to Fiji:
Hi, I am moving for a job at USP in Suva in January. I have never been to Fiji. I am a PhD and have been at unt.edu for the past 7 years as adjunct but laid off and decided to go international. I was told I would be in faculty housing for 4 months but then need a place of my own. I think I want to rent furnished one bedroom. I don't think I'll get a car. I'm on a 3 yr contract and my work visa is being processed now, that should go fine. I was raised in Chicago, currently in Texas, traveled the world at every opportunity but never been to Fiji. I have been to Australia and New Zealand. So, I hope to meet other Americans, where are they? and is there anything I should bring that I can't get there? Any, absolutely any help is appreciated! Fiji: University of the South Pacific:
THANK YOU! I thought I might be the only American! I signed the contract which I thought was too vague, no start date, no classes listed... but I signed it and did the visa paperwork. They let me pick my start date so I picked January 18 2016. I don't know when classes start. I don't know if there is new faculty orientation. I think I report to Dr Goldfinch. They said in the interview I will have 4 months in faculty housing but that wasn't for sure. I would greatly appreciate ANY help. I have never been to Fiji. My BS is in Finance, MA in Human Resources, PHD in Applied Technology Performance Improvement. Conference presentation topics: MOOCs, OCOPs, Virtual Learning Communities, Workplace learning etc but not Pac specific (or even close) find me on linkedin. I really appreciate your post, and please tell me more! Maureen Murphy PhD
