Portugal: peace of mind.:

$1500 is do able as the average salary is 600 to 1000. We live in the center of lisbon and rent for our 2 bedroom place. You can find a nice one bedroom for $400 to $600. Movies are $12 per ticket. Meto is $1.5 per trip. Uber is cheaper than taxi here. 30 minute trip by taxi is $20 euro or $25 dollars where Uber is $7 dollars. Vegetables and chicken is half of that in the USA. Imported electronics have a 24% tax. Eating near tourist areas in Lisbon they add 24%. In the smaller restaurants a good meal is 9 to $12 so not much different than the USA.

Portugal: Three month winter rental:

We are leaving February 1. We are near Marques De Pombal. 2 bedroom one bath. $1400 per month. recent renovation. You could probably negotiate the price down. Contact me at orishealthandsafety@gmail.com if you want to get the owners info. She a nice lady the live next door.

Portugal: Housing Question:

Alot of people use electric oil filled space heaters. More expensive flats like ours have heating/ac units in each room with one heat pump hanging on the outside wall. We are near Marque De Pombal Lisbon.

Portugal: Entrepreneur Visa:

We have been in Lisbon for 7 month and have a Brazilian friend the said she got one for inversting $5000 opening her hair salon around the corner from us. She use an attorney while visiting from Brazil.

Portugal: Retirement Visa / Schengen:

You dont need a visa to visit the EU and travel EU countrys for up to 90 days. I will share our experience. We came to Lisbon Portugal on June 1 2016. Applied for a visa extention at 60 days here. They gave us an appointment date 60 days out and a letter to carry allowing us to stay legally. the cost was about $120 for each of us. We where told we needed to leave hust before our visa extention expired and stay out for 24 hours then we could return for 90 more days. We went to London for a week to reset our visa. For a retirement you need to apply from the USA or get an attorney when your here.
