LisaC1, would you mind sharing the name of the school in Perugia that your husband attended? Thank you.

Italy: Easy Greeting Cards:

Another good option for ecards is Jacquie Lawson. She has beautiful, interactive animated cards with scenic landscapes accompanied with classic Christmas carols and holiday music. They are magical and special and will put a smile on your face. http://www.jacquielawson.com/cards

Italy: Urgent - Florence , which hospital:

Hello, I find myself in a situation here in Florence that I will need to go to the hospital this morning. I am new here, any recommendations for me would be greatly appreciated. I saw a list on a website so I will look there now. grazie mille.

Italy: What cell phone sim card for Flornece?:

I am moving to Florence tomorrow and have an unlocked iphone. My verizon service here in US ends tomorrow and so one of the first things I must do is immediately go to a cell phone provider and get a sim card for mobile phone service. I am looking for a month to month plan (the Verizon I just used for 1 month was $45). Any suggestions for me? Thanks so much!

Italy: Documents required for Permesso:

I will arrive in italy in a few weeks and know that I have to apply for my PdS within 8 days. I want to be sure that I have all of the necessary paperwork compiled and organized as I prepare to depart the US. It is my understanding that I need to submit the same paperwork that I used to apply for the Elective Residence visa. The only thing I'm uncertain about is the need to past tax returns. I have seen a few people mention that they needed this documentation, however, the LA consulate did not require any income tax returns for the ER visa. Does anyone know if I will need to show tax returns for my PdS application? thank you!

France: Virtual mailboxes - recommendation:

I will need to use a virtual mailbox for my first year before I have a permanent address. Has anyone used any of the virtual mailbox services available (US Global Mail, Traveling Mailbox, etc), and if so, has it worked well for you? Any recommendations? thank you!

Global Expat Forum: Recommendation of virtual mailbox service:

Does anyone have firsthand experience using a virtual mailbox, mail forwarding service they can recommend? I am moving to Italy on an ER visa and will need to use one of these services for at least a year or more until I settle into a permanent address there. I know there are services such as "Traveling Mailbox", "US Global Mail", etc. Thank you.

Italy: Delay entry date into Italy to stay under 183 days this year?:

I am awaiting the decision on my Elective Residence visa application (hopefully) and currently have a flight booked on June 14 with arrival in Italy on June 15. After learning about and reading the comments regarding the 183 day rule regarding taxes, I’ve recently started thinking that maybe I should possibly delay my entry into Italy a few weeks later, to stay under 183 days in 2016. I will have worked here in the US for about 5 months, so will have US taxes to pay next year and after all I’ve been reading these past 6 months here on this board, it seems it might make sense for me to not have to worry about sorting this out, at least my first year in Italy. I know I will incur the cost of the ticket change and will be paying rent in Italy for 2 weeks when I’m not yet there (seems commonly to happen with this visa), but it seems it might be worth those costs to keep my days to 183 or less in 2016. Would love to get advice and opinion of experts on this board. Question 2: If approved for the ER visa, do you have to enter Italy on the exact date that your visa starts, or can you enter a few weeks later? Question 3: I will have to come back to the states in the fall for a family wedding. Do those days out of Italy (10) subtract for my total number of days in Italy for 2016? Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
