Guatemala: Establishing a clean criminal record in Guatemala:

Hi, I have a couple of old misdemeanors (DUI) on my record and I'm afraid my youthful stupidity has caused my husband and me to lose the possibility of residency in Guatemala. His record is clean, he actually used to work for the sheriff's dept. I have been in contact with Betty Lopez, who mentioned that I could probably gt residency in Spain with traffic offences. I'm not sure she understands what a DUI is or if she can help in a situation like this, or if I could possibly live in Guatemala on a tourist visa for 5 years with border hops to establish a clean record in Guatemala. Have you heard of anyone is a similar boat and how they handled it? I'm 54 and my husband is 49, we were planning to move in 3-4 years. A ways out, I know. Thanks for any info you can share.

Guatemala: Criminal Background Check for Residency:

Do you need to be a legal resident of the place you lived the last year, or could you have lived somewhere on a tourist visa with border hops? I got a DUI a million years ago in the States and worry that would cause my application to be denied.

Panama: Problems with FBI report?:

do you mean the 90 day tourist visa for two years? Or is there something else?
