Bulgaria: Lawyer vs estate agent:
Hi, we bought a property a couple of years ago near Chirpan. We used a lawyer from Plovdiv - think his name was Georgie if I remember correctly. Cost us about £250. We thought it was well worth it for peace of mind. You'll need an interpreter when you go to the notaries office, but they normally sort that out.
Bulgaria: dog kennels nedyalsko yambolyambol:
A good friend of mine found two tiny puppies by the side of the road in a cardboard box. Only a couple of weeks old. Eyes shut and no fur. They've managed to keep them alive by bottle feeding. They are now 6 weeks old so should still be with their mom. Don't Bulgarians have their dogs neutered to prevent unwanted puppies? Very sad.
Bulgaria: builders near Plovdiv:
We came over and bought a property that needed renovating. Left it in the hands of a 'professional'. Work looked good whenever we popped over. After shelling out loads of cash, paid another instalment of £5k, no work done and builder walked away. House is now showing bad workmanship - tiles slipping off roof, kitchen floor tiles lifting and cracking. You do need to extremely careful and need to be onsite to see what's going on! We learnt an expensive but valuable lesson!
Bulgaria: Haskovo Expat:
Hi, we live in a village close to chirpan. Unfortunately due to work commitments we can only come out during school holidays but we hope to be able to spend more time here when we retire.
Bulgaria: Stephan Strombolovo:
Stephan please be VERY VERY careful with builders in Bulgaria. You can get stung badly and end up with a half-finished virtually uninhabitable house and lose lots of money. Trying to help others not make the same mistakes we have!
Bulgaria: Van for hire:
We used uk2bg too. Excellent service.
Bulgaria: Car Hire:
We have to come over to Bulgaria due to me working in a school and we find the car hire in August extremely high! Does anyone know a reputable, reliable company we could get a quote from please? We would pick up from Plovdiv airport.
Thanks
Karen
