Panama: Yellow Fever certificate advice:
Just get the inoculation.
Colombia: Villages near Armenia for retirement:
Great report, Visitando. I wish now that I had had the time to spend some in those two pueblos. It seems I was overly hasty in my quick drive through Circasia. Will return.
Colombia: For a 90-180 day trip what would you absolutely bring to COL:
Telus will unlock your phone for $50 and private companies on the net will do it for less. It is not an issue, just a minor cash grab.
Panama: Buying Cellphone on Visit to Panama:
IMO there is only one sensible option (because it's what I do). Call your provider and arrange to unlock your phone before leaving the US. As soon as you arrive in Panama visit just about any shop with an open door an for about $15 buy a local SIM card with Claro or Movistar and load it with date and phone. You get a local phone number and plenty of date, access to the net etc. Also - before leaving the US, download the free Whatsapp to your phone and have family and friends in the US do the same. Having done the foregoing you will have peace of mind knowing you can communicate freely with no chance of your ISP nailing you with overage fees.
Just do it.
Colombia: Tragic landslide, southwest Colombia:
Keep us informed if a legit contribution program is set up.
Colombia: City Other Than Your Own:
Me too. :=)
Colombia: Expats who returned to US or Canada:
Canada is liberal, but even better than the US under Obama, not worse! LOL PC normally means being considerate of the feelings of others. Nothing wrong with that.
Panama: Thinking about going to Cuba:
"Dedicated to all Bernie Sanders supporters and other DUMMYCRATS that believe "Government Socialism" is so much better than our country that was built on "Capitalism.""
Not to defend socialism, but to see an American state the above when the Cuban people have had to struggle so hard to overcome the cruel ravages of an unremitting American embargo for so many years, at the behest of hard core Cuban capitalists - well it's just a calumny. Starve a beautiful nation to the edge of desperation and then blame it on them rather than on your own evil policies - typical.
I am proud that throughout that period Canada supported Cuba with trade and tourism while America tried to starve it into submission. But the Ugly American will still spin the bullsh1t of The American Way.
Colombia: Bus Luggage Limitations?:
@PRS - just a thought: I hied a guide and driver out of the Aroma Macowa hotel in Armenia to take me for a quick tour of Circasia, Filandia etc. He had one of those ans so popular among perverts and kidnappers but with windows. It is not a long trip to Pereira and you would have no difficulty booking such a private van to take you and your possessions. It will cost more than a public bus obviously but you can't really be dragging all that stuff around hoping for an empty bus.
Just an idea, but that's what I would do to remove a lot of stress from my life.
Colombia: Thinking of moving to Colombia:
I admit to a lack of knowledge about chemtrails and GMOs, but I do know that the "a calorie is a calorie" theory is no longer held as a mainstream idea. Health pros now know much more about such things as sugar and carbs etc. and their effect on metabolism and overall health. The modern diet is not similar to that of decades ago and diabetes in only one of the consequences.
